Guyana is expected to receive approximately 32 million barrels of oil for the third quarter of 2026, the highest it has ever collected in three months from the Stabroek Block.
The country usually receives three lifts per month, each totalling an estimated one million barrels of oil. This major increase to 32 lifts, amounting to 32 million barrels of oil, was triggered following the recovery of US$55 billion in investments made by ExxonMobil and its partners.
ExxonMobil confirmed on July 31 that its investment totalling $55 billion was recovered roughly two years earlier than anticipated. Strong production and oil prices accelerated that recovery. With its investments recovered, there is now more oil to share as profits between Guyana and the ExxonMobil-led consortium.
The Ministry of Natural Resources confirmed to In-House Media that in July, the country secured 10 lifts. In August, Guyana will receive 10 lifts, while it is expected to receive 12 lifts in September. In total, Guyana will receive approximately 32 million barrels of oil for the 2026 third quarter.
According to the Bank of Guyana, the country received seven lifts in the first quarter, while it secured 11 in the second quarter. Overall, Guyana will receive 50 oil lifts or a total of 50 million barrels of “profit oil” from January to September.
It is important to note that this is significantly more than the 40 lifts the government projected for 2026 from the four producing FPSOs – Liza Destiny, Liza Unity, Prosperity and One Guyana.
