While Guyana’s seven sanctioned projects have produced “black crude”, the eighth project under consideration is expected to produce condensate. According to Alistair Routledge, President of ExxonMobil Guyana, condensate falls on the lighter end of the petroleum spectrum and is, therefore, higher in value. Once it receives the government’s blessings, it will produce the country’s most premium oil to date.
