Since issuing its first oil production permit in 2017 to ExxonMobil and its partners, Guyana’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has rapidly expanded its technical capacity. According to EPA Executive Director, Kemraj Parsram, the permits being granted today are not simply better; they are grounded in rigorous international best practices and crafted to protect the nation’s long-term interests.
